This wonderful cat is in need of a "Foster" home!
Precious Paws is looking for a reliable foster family for Maxwell who has diabetes. Max was recently diagnosed as a diabetic and we are working to get his insulin stable.
Our volunteer staff has been taking him to Critter Care twice monthly for testing of his numbers and for adjusting the amount of insulin he needs. We are hopeful that these visits will decrease as his numbers get regulated.
Precious Paws is hoping to find a family for Max who will be able to give him the attention he needs and to provide foster help by taking him to his vet appointments. Max is currently on 8 units of insulin twice daily.
The ideal home is one that knows how to take care of a diabetic cat and is home to ensure he gets his medication at the same time daily.
We just believe that he would thrive much better in a home environment where he can get the love and attention that he deserves. He is a very loving and cuddly guy. Max would do very well in a quieter home where he is the only pet. Max does like other cars and small dogs; however, Max doesn't have food out for grazing throughout the day and if other pets have food out may tempt him. Like all animal shelters, Precious Paws tends to be busy and many times that causes stress levels in our animals to increase as well.
Max is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines. Precious Paws will continue to pay for all of Max's vet visits, insulin, needles, food, and litter to help with his care.
