Fill out an application. If you would like to meet a dog or cat that interests you, complete our online adoption application. Your application is not binding—it is just the first step in learning about your household. We often get several applications for one pet so please understand filling out an application does not guarantee you will be able to adopt this pet.
Meet and greet time! A Precious Paws volunteer will reach out to you and let you know that your application was approved then schedule a “meet and greet.” This meeting takes place at our shelter. We also do meet and greets with cats and dogs to make sure the animal you want to add to your family is a great match.
If the meet and greet is a match, you will then pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee includes the cost of the spay/neuter surgery, microchip implant, and all age-appropriate vaccinations. If the animal cannot go home after that visit- needs their spay/neuter, etc., the full amount of the adoption fee is required.
Congratulations, you’ve got a new family member! You'll receive lots of support leading up to and after your adoption. Once you adopt from Precious Paws, you're always a part of our family and we'll be here for any support or questions!
